Beyond the Incident: Intimate Partner Violence Education for Pretrial Professionals

Intimate partner violence cases present distinct challenges for pretrial professionals, who must balance survivor safety, due process, the presumption of innocence, and the least-restrictive-conditions principle—often with incomplete information.

This interactive 90-minute webinar moves from foundational concepts to practical application. Participants will examine the dynamics of intimate partner violence, including coercive control, patterns of behavior, risk, and the distinction between relationship conflict and abuse. Presenters will then explore how these concepts can inform individualized release recommendations, supervision strategies, conditions of release, and participant engagement.
